Just wondering if fitting a double bouble screen could help the straight line speed of an 05 10R with a 5'8" rider? ...or perhaps reduce rider fatigue when racing? As you probably know by now i'm referring to my brother and when I watch from the sidelines he doesnt actully look very aerodynamic (stocky build)! I noticed that the TT riders this year were using mammoth-sized, almost vertical screens dontknow.

Ive searched the forum but most threads seem to be about comfort or reading the clocks.

Does anyone have any pretty sure info from a performance point of view?  Thanks.

the TT is quite different to any other track though.

they do help a bit but if he's suffering fatigue i'd suggest getting fitter.

as for the areodynamic efficiency, unless your looking for that 100th of a second it will make no difference to a racer time wise, but the extra height will take a bit of the wind buff of him, although at 5.8 he shouldn't have a problem getting under the screen.

I changed to a slightly higher screen this year as it was a bit easier to get behind (I'm 6'2" ish) it def creates a better stream of air but as scooby said performance wise theres not much in it really at the tracks with shorter straights, Thruxton & Snett though I think it'd be a benefit, infact if anyone knows where the proper tall screens come from that they use at the TT could they let me know?

on the tt zx10's (mcadoo) they're kinda home made if you look closely at pics - two screens riveted together to make a very tall one. lol

Thanks for the advice, probably more important to save the money towards more important things then.
